This month marks the 100th anniversary of the award of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine to Frederick Banting and John James Rickard Macleod for the discovery of insulin. Unfortunately, Macleod’s crucial role in the discovery has been obscured and misunderstood. I contributed a guest blog to the University of Toronto Press Journals Blog this week which I hope will contribute to the efforts to shine more light on Macleod’s contributions.
