Over the weekend of May 5-7, I was happy to join the members of the Toronto Medical Historical Club in leading a Medical Discovery Walk for this year’s Jane’s Walk, a festival of free, citizen-led walking conversations inspired by Jane Jacobs. We explored sites related to the discovery of insulin by Banting, Best, Collip, and Macleod, heard about the work of Norman Bethune, and learned about the stem cell research of James Till and Ernest McCullough.
